Douglas "Doug" G. Rose

Douglas Gene Rose, 60, of Frankfort, passed away on June 20, 2023. Doug was born April 30, 1963, in Knox, Indiana to Ed Rose and Norma (Style) Pharis. He married Michelle Smith on May 6, 1984; she survives.

Doug graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 1981. He worked mainly as a truck driver throughout his life. Doug started his career with driving for Jimmy Stewart and then several others, including Exide, Transport Services, Werner’s and part-time for Barrett Trucking. He finished working with the Clinton County Highway Department, where he worked just shy of 19 years.

Doug enjoyed playing Euchre, 31, Texas Hold ‘Em, and was an avid Bingo player at the Frankfort Eagles, where he had been a member for several years.

Doug is survived by his children, Jessica (Eric) Nelson, Daniel (Taylor) Rose, and Jennifer Rose; grandchildren, Lane Nelson, Aubrey Rose, Hudson Nelson, Ava Crockett, Rylee Rose, and Emersyn Nelson; sister, Cheryl (Jeff) Copeland; brothers, Steve (Janice) Rose, David (Brenda) Rose, Dennis (Valerie) Rose, Norman (Cindy) Rose; half-sisters, Shannon (Chris) Coomer and Stacy Rose; stepbrother, Perry “Buddy” (Linda) Keeton; best friend, Harvey “Sonny” Martin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Frankfort Eagles Lodge, 408 N Main Street, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial donations may be made to the Perry Township Fire Department, PO Box 224, Colfax, IN  46035 or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
