Agnes Faye James

Agnes Faye Ward Hufford James, age 88, of Bringhurst, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at her home.

Agnes was born on February 28, 1928 to Marion and Mary (Enoch) Ward in Lafayette, IN. She attended schools in Owasco and Rossville. In 1944, Agnes married Morris E. Hufford. He preceded her in death in 1976.  In 1979, Agnes married David James. He preceded her in death in 2011. Agnes was a lifelong resident of the Rossville area. She worked for over 20 years as a cashier at the Dewey’s IGA in Rossville. She was also a lifelong member of Radnor United Methodist Church in Delphi. She dearly loved her family and loved her church. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry D. Hufford (Esther) of Lafayette and Gary D. Hufford (Peggy) of Auburn, IN; one brother, Joe Ward of Cutler; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one brother, Paul Ward and one son, Wayne Hufford.

A funeral service for Agnes will be held on Saturday morning, May 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at Genda Funeral Home, Rossville Chapel. Visitation will be on Friday evening, May 27, 2016, from 4:00 until 7:00pm and again from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 at the Funeral Home. Pastor Ed Selvidge of Radnor United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Rossville Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home or memorial contributions can be made in Agnes James’ name to Radnor United Methodist Church.
