Alan Ray Bowen Sr., 61, of Rossville, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born June 21, 1953, in Frankfort, Indiana, to Guy and Carolyn Neher Bowen.  He married Mitzi Gale Gray; she survives.  They shared 18 years together.

He was a 1971 graduate of Rossville High School. Alan served in the United States Army.   Alan was a maintenance tech for 28 years at Rostone and eight years in maintenance at IPC.  He enjoyed bowling, fishing, football, NASCAR, Purdue sports and his grandkids.  Alan was also a member of IBEW Local Lafayette.

In addition to his wife, Alan is survived by his children, Tanya Gale (Richard) Warren and Alan Ray Bowen Jr.; one brother, Robert D. (Diana) Bowen; three sisters, Rose Marie (Robert) Treece, Norma Birge and Martha (Damon) Hayes; four grandchildren, Dakota Loveless, Richie Warren, Hunter Warren, and Tianya Warren; his mother-in-law, Minnie Marie Gray; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Jason Allen.

Visitation for Alan will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.  Pastor Mike Dominick will officiate.  Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to help the family with expenses.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
