Alma Elizabeth Brubaker, 92, of Pyrmont, passed away peacefully in the early morning on Friday, May 22, 2015, at her home.
She was born near Buck Creek, on January 22, 1923, to Cephas R. and Nanny Belle (Byrd) Boone and then moved with her family to western Kansas as a young girl. She graduated from Modesto High School in California.
On April 14, 1944, Alma married Donald C. Brubaker with whom she shared lifeâs joys and sorrows for more than 71 years. A devoted help meet and homemaker, she, with her husband, raised their family on their farm east of Buck Creek. She was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
Alma is survived by her husband, three sons, Marcus (Sherrill) Brubaker of Lewisburg, OH, and Steven (Linda) Brubaker and Jay (Julie) Brubaker, both of Rossville; one daughter, Suzanne (Jesse) Longenecker of Rossville; 20 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, five brothers, and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the North Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church, ½ mile south of Pyrmont, from 1:00 â 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015, at the church with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining church cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel.
