Alma Fern Rule, 97, of Rossville, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born July 27, 1915, in Ross Township, Clinton County, the daughter of Daniel V. and Leah Metzger Skiles.
She married Lloyd A. Rule on April 19, 1936 and he preceded her on July 10, 2000.
Alma was a lifelong resident of Ross Township and resident of Rossville since 1990. She was a housewife and homemaker and a member of Middle Fork Old German Baptist Church.
Alma is survived by three daughters, Mary Jo (Sylvan) Eller of Union, Ohio, Dorothy Alyce Hyre of Greenville, Ohio, and Mildred Ann (Gordon) Welk of rural Rossville; nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers, Noah, Ora, Aaron, Marvin, Joseph D., and John Ezra Skiles; and two sisters, Lydia Eller, Ida Brovont, and a son-in-law; Jerry Hyre.
Visitation for Alma will be held from 9:30am-12:00pm on Tuesday April 16, 2013 at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday April 16, 2013 at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Church with the Church Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Old German Baptist Cemetery with her grandson, Greg Hyre, officiating.
