Andrew Jay ""Andy"" Smith

Andrew Jay “Andy” Smith, 32, of Frankfort, died at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.

He was born June 25, 1979 in Lafayette, to John “Jack” and Marcia (Wills) Smith. He married Cindy Cash Sept. 26, 2010. She survives.

Mr. Smith graduated from Frankfort High School in 1997 and was a lifelong area resident. He was a union roofer, and was a supporter of the Humane Society and adopted pets. He also enjoyed fishing and NASCAR, and was a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a brother: Josh Smith; mother- and father-in-law: Marilyn and Larry Cash; a brother-in-law: Chris Cash; grandfather-in-law: Elmer Fish; nieces: Courtney Cash, Bethany Dowling and Amber Dowling; sister-in-law: Penny Dowling; nephew:  Benji Dowling: his dog Buddy and cat Kidders.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Owen and Delores Wills; and paternal grandparents: Ralph and Helen Smith.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at Genda Funeral Home. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or to the family to help with medical expenses.
