Anna Belle Root, 89, of Rossville, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at her home.
She was born May 9, 1927, in Howard County, to Harvey L. and Clara B. Metzger Wagoner. On May 9, 1948, Anna Belle married John L. Root; he preceded her in death on March 7, 2008.
Anna Belle graduated in 1945 from Linden High School in Michigan. She was a house wife and homemaker and a member of the Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
Surviving Anna Belle are her sons, Richard (Joyce) Root and Gene (Julia) Root, both of Rossville; sister, Francis (Kenneth) McGill, of Tampa, FL; brother, Carl (Barbara) Wagoner, of Whitehouse, TN; eight grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Anna Belle is preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Donna Belle and David Flory; infant brother, Norman Leroy Wagoner; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Root; and three great-grandsons, Landon, Caleb, and Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 2:00 â 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November18, 2016, at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery. Memorials in Anna Belleâs name may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
