Anthony M. Strickland

Anthony M. “Capt’n Tony” Strickland, 57, of Rossville, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Mulberry Health.  He was born March 10, 1967, in Clewiston, Florida to James and Ruby Jeanette (Meredith) Strickland, Sr.  

Tony worked in telecommunications for different companies doing underground wiring for phone companies.  He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle, working on cars, cookouts, and camping.  He enjoyed being around people and made friends wherever he went.  His smile was captivating.  Many days you could find him at Waffle Houses drinking coffee and sharing laughs and conversations with those there. 

Tony is survived by his mother; children, Megan, Amber, Allie, Adam, Autum, and Andrew Strickland; brothers, Gary (Susan) and Michael (Shelly) Strickland; grandchildren, Haylee, Azalea, and Clayton; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law and dear friend, Mandee (Corey) Nicolas.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, James “Jimmy” Strickland, Jr.
