Audrey Deanna âDeeâ Kelly-Bowsher, 68, of Monticello, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 13, 2017, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born January 13, 1949, in Harrogate, TN, to Garfield and Ellen Miracle Saylor; her mother survives in Rossville. On October 22, 1967, she married Larry E. Kelly; he preceded her in death on December 4, 2006. She later married Richard Bowsher on December 27, 2011; he survives in Monticello.
Dee owned and operated the Gingerbread Shoppe in Rossville for 20 years before working as a home health aide for Promise Home Services in Frankfort. She enjoyed her involvement with the AMVETS Auxiliary in addition to gardening and singing. Dee was proud of her political stand and followed the 2016 presidential election with a passion. She was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Delphi for 40 years.
In addition to her mother and husband, Dee is survived by her daughter, Angela Kelly, of Monticello; step-sons, Rick (Mary) Kelly, of Lafayette, Jack Bowsher, of Monticello, and Mike (Katie) Bowsher, of Battle Ground; step-daughters, Cheryl Wilson, of Rossville, and Cheri (Chris) Irons, of Battle Ground; siblings, Thelma âT.J.â (Steve) Strong, of Battle Ground, William âBillâ Saylor, of Rossville, Phil Saylor, of Memphis, TN, and Terrie (Jim) Unger, of Rossville; three granddaughters and lights of her life, Laura (Jon) Smith, Emily Fellows, and Sarah (Joshua) Ramey; great-grandson, Maximus Smith; soon to arrive great-granddaughter, Baby Ramey; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her best friend, MaryAnne Alder, of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her father: Garfield Saylor; 1st husband: Larry Kelly; sisters: Ella Sue Saylor and Mae (Noah) Shackelford; and a son-in-law: Bryan Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Funeral service honoring Dee will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Delphi, with Pastor Algie VanWinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery. Memorials in Deeâs memory may be made to Grace Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
