Barbara J. Adams, 74, of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at her home.
She was born April 20, 1941, in Frankfort, to Frederick R. and Doris J. Ohlemacher Wilson. On September 7, 1957, she married Frank Adams; he survives.
Barbara graduated from Frankfort High School in 1959. She was a homemaker, traveled with Frank while he was driving for ISI, taught roller skating, and had previously worked at Jules L. Simon. Barbara and Frank first met while competitively roller skating. In 1973, they won the National Championship in the Senior Veterans Division. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church and Women of the Moose where she coached the Women of the Moose International Ritual Team who were champions for three years. She enjoyed playing bingo at Paul Phillippe Resource Center, square and round dancing, and camping. Above all else, Barbaraâs family was her passion in life.
In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her children, Charles âTonyâ (Kathy) Adams of Summer Shade, KY, Melissa Jo Ann (Dean) Hedges of Lafayette, Tamara Lynn (Tim) Gregg of Switz City, and Deanna D. Sheda of Indianapolis; brother, Raymond (Beverly) Wilson of Grand Rapids, MI; sisters, Becky Ticen of New York, Linda (Don) Walker of Taylorsville, and Kim (Bob) Ray of Frankfort; 19 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sandra Sebree; son, Jeffrey Adams; and grandsons, Malcolm and Nathaniel Adams.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Frankfort, with Pastor Chuck Williams officiate. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorials in Barbaraâs name may be made to Clinton County Cancer or First Baptist Church.
