Barbara J. Michael

Barbara Jayne Michael, 57, of Frankfort, died on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at her home.

She was born on November 29, 1958, in Frankfort, to the late James E. McCord and Doris O. Frantz McCord.

Barb was a 1976 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School and earned an associate degree from Ball State University majoring in Journalism.  She was also a graduate of House of James Beauty School and worked as a hairstylist at the beauty shop in Wesley Manor for 23 years.

Barb enjoyed travelling, reading, cooking, and making and selling crafts.  She was a past president of the Clinton County Art League.

On February 4, 2000, she married Danny R. Michael; he survives along with their Cocker Spaniel, “Lucy.”  They had no other children.  Also surviving are her mother, Doris; one brother, Nathan C. McCord; one aunt, Barbara June McCord; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Linda) Michael and Chuck (Donna) Toney; one sister-in-law, Carolyn White, all of Frankfort.  Barb also had more than twenty-five cousins and many friends survive.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 3:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 5:00 p.m.  Chaplain Barbara Kinsler will officiate.  Memorials in Barb’s name may be made to Wesley Manor Employee Appreciation Fund.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
