Barbara Peters

Barbara Ann Peters, 68 of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette.  She was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky on October 27, 1953, to Dennis and Edna Jane Walker Siders. She married Gilbert Dale Peters on October 26, 1974, in Vine Grove, KY; he survives in Lafayette.

Barbara was a 1971 graduate from North Hardin High School in Radcliff, KY and received an associate’s degree from Spencerian College in Louisville. She retired from Marsh Supermarkets in Lafayette where she had been the deli manager for several years. In her earlier years, Barbara worked for Del-Monte in Frankfort. She enjoyed being with her family and especially her grandchildren. Barbara was a member of the New Life Assembly of God in Frankfort.

In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her sons, Gilbert D. (Michele) Peters II of Romney and James D. (Jennifer) Peters of Lafayette; brothers, Dennis Siders of Louisville and David R. (Vickie) Siders of Venice Beach, FL; sisters, Jane (John) Norton of Bardstown, KY, Ruth Leach of Pawpaw, WV, Jeanie Robinson of Elizabethtown, KY, and Mona (Jim) Bond of Louisville; grandchildren; Nina Stewart, Arianna Peters, Conner Peters, Saithena Peters, and Victoria Peters; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Genda Funeral Home ~ Rossville Chapel with Chaplain Ken Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora.
