Betty E. Nead, 75, formerly of Kokomo, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.
She was born December 7, 1938, in Cynthiana, KY, the daughter of William Frank and Dora Surber Cheek. Betty married Robert Nead; he preceded her in death.
Betty attended Scircleville Schools. She was a homemaker. She had a love of cooking and baking while enjoying her coffee at the table. Decorating for Christmas was a month long event in Bettyâs home. Betty attended Foursquare Gospel Church in Kokomo.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jeanelle (Tracy) Tharp of Frankfort and Ann Jeanette Shivley of Indianapolis; nine siblings, Ruth Royce, Velma (Chuck) Householder, Margce (Jack) Francis, Bobbi Johnson, Frank (Vicki) Cheek, Lois Hamilton, Roy (Trudy) Cheek, Linda Sparling, Kathleen (Steve) Fearnow; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by her son, Billy Nead; and three siblings, Robert Dale Cheek, James T. Cheek, and Genita Young.
Visitation for Betty will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 11 a.m. until the beginning of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Pastor Bob Woods will officiate.
