Betty J. Toney

Betty J. Toney, 82, of rural Kirklin, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at her home. She was born December 11, 1938, in Frankfort to Guy and Ruby (Elkins) Ostler.  She married Robert N. Toney on December 29, 1956; he survives.     

Betty attended Frankfort High School and worked at Uni-Electric until they closed.  She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bingo and dancing.  She loved her family, especially her grandkids, who were her world. 

Surviving with her husband, Robert, are her children; Robert (wife, Cheryl) Toney II of Kirklin, Diana (husband, Karl) Toney-Watson of Kirklin, and Melissa (husband, David) Trine of Kokomo; sister, Ruby; brother, Denny Herrell; grandkids, Amanda, Robert, Jessica, Donald, Matthew, Amber, and Jennifer; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bertha Toney; brothers, Dale Ostler and Bud Ostler; infant daughter, Angie; and grandson, Derrick Stom.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 12 from 5 p.m. until the start of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.

Memorial contributions in Betty’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-1942.
