Betty Jean Skiles, 84, of Mulberry, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Mulberry Health.
She was born November 11, 1931, in Frankfort, to Oral C. and Lucy V. Scircle Johnson. On May 28, 1950, she married Eldon Skiles at Mulberry United Methodist Church; he survives in Mulberry.
Betty was a homemaker and worked part-time at Mulberry Phone Company. She was a member of Mulberry United Methodist Church, Women Society for Christian Service, Triple F Club, Home Study Circle, and Motherâs Club where she was president for one year. Betty was very creative in painting, flowers, and arts and crafts.
In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her children, Janet (Ted) Gee and Karen (Martin) Braunecker, both of Greenwood, and Mark (Chris) Skiles, of Carmel; four grandchildren, Carrie, Doug, Collin, and Morgan; and great-grandson, Henry.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold Johnson and Bernard Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor D. âHarleyâ Helm will officiate.
