Betty Kathryn Neely

Betty Kathryn Jones Neely, 87, of Frankfort, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born October 27, 1928, in Somerset, KY, to Squire L. and Tempe E. Hardwick Jones.  On October 20, 1946, she married Cecil Harden Neely; he passed away in 1998.

Betty attended Garland High School in Garland, KY.  She worked for Superfresh for six years, National Cigar Corp, and retired from P.R. Mallory.  Betty was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crossword puzzles.

Surviving Betty are two sons, Lawrence W. Neely of Lafayette, and Mark H. Neely of Frankfort; three daughters, Diana Sue (Luther) Ramsey, Sally Larson, and Deborah L. Neely, all of Frankfort; sister, Helen A. Hoppins of Jeffersonville; nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Betty is preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Stan Larson; sister, Bessie (Harry) Bray; and two brothers, Clarence S. Jones and Willard L. Jones.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from noon to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Rob Marcus will officiate.  Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.  Memorials in Betty’s name may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
