Betty L. Walker

Betty Louise Walker, 91, formerly of rural Mulberry, went home on Monday, November 2, 2015.

She was born July 13, 1924, in Boone County to Glen H. and Gladys Kelley Irwin.  On March 1, 1946, she married Ralph A. Walker; he preceded her in death on March 28, 2004.

Betty graduated from Frankfort High School in 1942.  She worked at Delco in Kokomo and later at Globe Valve in Delphi before retiring in 1976.  Betty was a member of Thorntown Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, camping with her husband, Ralph, and spending time with her family.

Surviving Betty are her two children, Ralph David Walker (Paula) of Terre Haute, and Pamela Shanks (Randy) of Delphi; and a brother, Robert “Bob” Irwin.  She was also blessed with six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Betty is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Glen “Red” Irwin; and sister, Patricia “Pat” Cheeseman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Denver Fields will officiate.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
