Beverly D. Bush, 85, of Kirklin, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born September 24, 1928, in Lafayette, to Homer and Inez Heath Dalton. On August 8, 1948, Beverly married Dr. Charles Bush; he survives.
Beverly graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1946. She began her career in Clinton County politics with Lucille Wolfendale. She served as chairman of the Clinton County Republican Party from 1994 to 2009 and vice chairman for eight years. She also served as a Precinct Committee Chair. Beverly served as Delegate to the Republican State Convention from 2002-2012 and a 2004 Delegate to the Republican National Convention. She received the honor of being an elector for the 2012 Presidential and Vice Presidential election. She was past treasurer for the Indiana Federation of Republican Women and attended the inaugurations of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.
Beverly previously worked as a bookkeeper at Rappâs Department Store in Lafayette. Beverly was devoted to her family and a dedicated homemaker. She was a member of the St. Vincent Hospital Pink Ladies and Zonta and founding member of Kirklin P.M. Home Ec Club. Beverly was a member of the Indiana and National Federation of Republican Women.
In addition to her husband, Beverly is survived by one son, Stephen (Phyllis) Bush of Indianapolis; two daughters, Susan Bush (Tom) Marshall of Scircleville, and Cindi Bush (Dr. Jay) Davis of Michigantown; one sister, Delsie Zahn of Zanesville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brandon (Elaine) Bush, Dylan Pohl, Evan Pohl, Caitlin Davis and Dalton Bush; and two great grandchildren, Ward Bush and Alec Bush.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents and one son, David Bush.
Visitation for Beverly will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 3:00 â 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the funeral home with Senator Jim Buck leading the services. Memorials in Beverlyâs name may be made to St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital Pink Ladies, St. Vincent Hospital Foundation, or a charity of choice.
