Billie J. Hicks, 91, passed away March 3, 2022, in Wesley Manor Health Care Pavilion. 

Born in Corbin, Kentucky, on September 16, 1930, Billie was the daughter of Ishmal and Edith (Lenard) Nelson.  She married Chester A. Hicks, and he preceded her in death.

Billie worked in retail sales at Dillard’s in Clarksville, Indiana, before retiring.  She moved from Clarksville in 2013.  She enjoyed working word search puzzles.

Billie is survived by her son, Charles (Linda) Wilcox, of Frankfort; granddaughter, Nikki (Dean) Longmore; step-grandson, Richard (Nenna) Royer; step-grandson-in-law, Brian Vice; great-grandchildren, Collin and Ryan LeCuyer and Taylor and Jett Longmore; and her brother, Ed Nelson, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Dot and Sue; brother, Bobby; and step-granddaughter, Valerie Vice.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, with Pastor Chuck Williams officiating.  Burial will be in Historic Estates of Serenity in Marion, Indiana.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
