Billie Sue Cockrum Emery, 73, of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.
Billie was born on December 7, 1943, in Jefferson City, TN, to William and Nellie Gilbert Cockrum. On July 11, 1959, she married Gerald âJerryâ Emery; they shared 41 years together before he passed on July 17, 2000.
In the late 1940âs, Billie and her family moved to the Frankfort area where she attended Frankfort High School. She worked in housekeeping at Wesley Manor for 32 years before retiring in 2007. In her retirement, Billie found great joy in working as a crossing guard for Frankfort Schools; she kept her kids stocked with school supplies. She attended Cornerstone Assembly of God and was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Billie and her companion Jerry loved to attended festivals, listen to country music, and go dancing on the weekends. Billie never knew a stranger and always had a smile for everyone.
Surviving Billie are her companion, Jerry Moore, of Frankfort; sons, Randy (Gina) Emery and Brad Emery, both of Frankfort; sisters, Virginia Howe and Margaret Ashlock, both of Frankfort; brother, Mike Cockrum, of Frankfort; three grandchildren, Brooke (Bryan) Wagoner, Kaitlyn Emery, and Jesse Emery; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Billie is preceded in death by her parents, son, Jeff; and brother, Harold.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from noon to the start of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Mark Mowery will officiate.
