Billy W. Godbey

Billy Wayne Godbey, 55, formerly of Stewart Manor in Frankfort, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016, at Signature Health Care in Lafayette.

He was born January 15, 1961, in Somerset, KY, to Rev. Bill and Janet Shadoan Godbey; his parents survive in Rossville.  He was formerly married to Tina Barnes Johnson.

Billy attended Frankfort Schools and later achieved his GED.  He was a truck driver for 15 years and attended Valley View Baptist Church.

Also surviving are three sons, Michael (Katie) Godbey of Lafayette, Jay Godbey of Arizona, and Billy Godbey of Frankfort; two daughters, Danielle Godbey (Travis) of Lafayette, and Sierra Godbey of Frankfort; sisters, Glenda (Brad) Skaggs of Frankfort, Lois Janie Adams of Rossville, Lisa (Wade) Creasy of Lafayette, and Pamela (Denis) Jones of Bringhurst; and seven grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one daughter, Ashley.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m.  Pastor Larry Purvis will officiate.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
