Bob Bandy

Bob Bandy, 85, of Mulberry, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, at his home in Mulberry. He was born August 24, 1938, in Indianapolis, to Robert William and Rebecca (Cave) Bandy. He married Barbara A. Bull on August 23, 1959, in Lafayette; she survives.

Bob graduated in 1956 from Dayton High School. Following high school, he joined the Marines where he served for 6 years. Bob retired from Rea Magnet Wire in Lafayette after 40 years of service. He enjoyed attending auctions, coaching Little League, and watching his grandchildren play sports. Bob was an extreme celebrator of Christmas and an avid IU and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Surviving Bob is his wife, Barbara; his children, Robert M. Bandy of Jacksonville, FL, Dayna M. (Lance) Loveless of Mulberry, Mark C. (Lisa) Bandy of Crawfordsville, and Todd W. (Mary) Bandy of Mulberry; 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Judith Bandy of Shelbyville.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert William Bandy; mother, Rebecca McKinniss; brothers, Jim C. Bandy and Donnie D. Thompson; sister, Mary D. (Bobby) Driggs; and a daughter-in-law, Teena Bandy.

Following Bob’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.  Day & Genda Funeral Home – Mulberry Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be made in Bob’s name to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street,  Boys Town, NE 68010.  Messages of condolence to the family are welcomed at www.dayandgenda.com.
