Bonnie Lou Burton, 79, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

She was born November 6, 1933, in Frankfort, the daughter of William H. & Evelyn G. Myers Cook.

Bonnie was a 1953 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School.  On June 26, 1966, she married William Ray Burton; he preceded her in death January 30, 1984.  Bonnie worked as a sales person at Caddell’s, J. C. Penny Stores, Kent’s Shoes, and later at Baker Shoes.  She had attended Trinity and St. Matthew United Methodist Churches.  

Surviving Bonnie are her daughter, Brenda Burton of Lafayette; step daughter, Susan Zell of Frankfort; step son, Steve Burton of Indianapolis; brother, William E. (Dawn) Cook of Frankfort; three grandchildren, Dan (Carrie) Cunningham, Steve (Marlee) Cunningham, and Melissa (Richard) Campbell; six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation for Bonnie will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 5:00-8:00 pm.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Lore Blinn-Gibson officiating.  Entombment will follow at Green Lawn Mausoleum.

Memorials in Bonnie’s name may be made to the Salvation Army.
