Brent Allen Matthews

Brent Allen Matthews, 42, of Delphi, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born October 10, 1970, in Frankfort, the son of Elmer J. and Judith K. Carman Crider; Ewing Brent Matthews, his father, preceded Brent in death at a young age.

Brent was a carpenter and member of the Carpenters Union Local #215.  He enjoyed hunting fishing, woodworking, riding ATV’s, and target shooting.

In addition to his mother, Brent is survived by his father, Elmer J. Crider, two sons, Brent Matthews Jr. and Dillon Matthews; two sister, Lora George (fiancé, Bryan Phillips, and Jo Jo (husband, Jerold) Wood; one brother, Elmer (wife, Cristin) Crider; 17 nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his father, Brent is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and one nephew.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service.  Funeral service for Brent will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Gottschalk officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.  Memorials in Brent’s name may be made to the family to help with expenses.  On-line condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
