Brownie A. Blazak, 87 of Frankfort, IN passed away at 12:35AM on April 5, 2011 at St. Vincent ER. Brownie was born May 22, 1923 in North Tonawanda, NY to Joseph andVeronica (Pipleski) Blazak. He married Mary Bodnar and they later divorced.
He has lived in Frankfort for the past 7 years, having moved from Smithfield, NC & Altamonte Springs, FL. Brownie worked as a Insurance Claims Manager for Zurich Insurance Co. and graduated from both North Tonawanda High School and St. Lawrence University. Brownie served in the United States Army, training paratroopers and playing baseball. He also played shortstop in the American Canadian Minor League for the New York Yankees.
He is survived by 3 sons, Christopher (wife Anne) of Sewickley, PA, Robert of Seattle, WA & Scott (wife Kelly) of Frankfort. There is also 7 grandchildren surviving, Miranda, Riley, Jonathan, Jamie, Jori, Rebecca & Peter. He was preceded in death by one siser Marion & four brothers, Ed, Ben, Hank & Steve.
Mr. Blazak will be cremated and there are no services planned.
