Bruce Allen Rollins, 62, of Rossville, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016, at his home.
He was born October 16, 1953, in Tipton, to Paul Eugene and Ruth Marie Hodson Rollins. On April 14, 1978, he married Ardis Kay Critser; she passed away on March 30, 2011.
Bruce graduated from Western High School Class of 1972, and then served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Forrestal, achieving the rank of Petty Officer. He returned to Purdue University to receive his Bachelorâs Degree in Restaurant, Hotel, and International Studies. Bruce spent his career working for Mid-America Beverage in Kokomo, in sales. He was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church, and past member of the VFW, Lafayette American Legion, and Rochdale Co-op at Purdue. Bruce coached all of his sons in baseball and had recently been traveling with them from the shores of Dale Hollow Lake, bright lights of Las Vegas, bleachers of Wrigley Field, while sharing memories of scaling the peaks of Russiaville water tower. Bruce took great pride in maintaining his yard and civil war era home.
Surviving Bruce are three sons, Ashley Cooper Rollins of Rossville, Tyler Jay Rollins (fiancée, June Li) of Chicago, and Ryan Webster Rollins of Rossville; brother, Blake (Jennifer) Rollins of Russiaville; sister, Bonnie (Tony) Rollins-Capaccio of Arlington, VA; and two nieces, Brinâna and Grace.
In addition to his wife, Bruce is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service in Bruceâs honor will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastors Bob Raschka and Rick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery with military graveside honors. Memorials in Bruceâs name may be made to Rossville United Methodist Church.
