Bruce Byron Dorsey, 92, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Wesley Manor Health and Retirement Community in Frankfort.
He was born on December 23, 1922, in Clinton County, the son of Lore and Edith Beisel Dorsey. On April 7, 1946, he married Florence M. Larson at St. Paulâs Lutheran Church in Frankfort; she survives.
Mr. Dorsey was born and passed on December 23.
He graduated in 1940 from Frankfort High School. He served in the U S Army from 1943-1946 where he was in Europe and Japan. Bruce Byron was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and held other offices in the church. He farmed for 68 years. Bruce Byron enjoyed working his land and fishing in the Dorsey Pond.
In addition to his wife, Bruce Byron is survived by a son Paul (Janet) Dorsey of Frankfort; two granddaughters, Stacey Ann (Aaron) Pedigo of Frankfort, and Tara Kathleen (Stephen) Henderson of Sarasota, Florida; sister, Kathleen Michael of Frankfort; brother-in-law, Paul (Barbara) Larson of Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Dorsey; sister, Eileen Stewart, and infant son, Thomas Bruce.
Visitation for Bruce Bryon will be held from 3:00 â 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at the funeral home with Certified Ruling Elder Donna Enerson of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church presiding.
