Byron Lynn Miller, 62, of Cutler, died at 4:44 a.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
Born Dec. 25, 1948, he was the son of William C. âBillâ and Joann Snyder Miller. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1966 and was an Army veteran.
He first married Deborah Wilson, and they divorced. He then married Patti L. Treece King, and they divorced. He later married Rebecca Lynn Chambers in March 1, 2005, and she survives.
Mr. Miller farmed with his brother in Clinton and Carroll Counties. Prior to that, he worked as a crop consultant with a few different companies before opening Ockley Soil Service.
He was a member of Geetingsville Presbyterian Church and was a life member and past commander of the former Rossville American Legion. He enjoyed antique tractors and farm equipment, casinos and spending time with his grandchildren. Byron was a real pillar of the community.
Surviving with his wife are his stepmother, Julia M. McKinsey Miller of Lebanon; a son, Bradford Miller (wife: Carrie) of Cutler; two daughters, Stacey Gangwer (companion: Randy Hart) of Rossville and Tiffany Warf (husband: Josh) of Frankfort; one stepson, Allen Baker of Cutler; two stepdaughters, Malinda Graves (fiancé: Wil Kennebeck) and Melissa Baker, both of Lafayette; one brother, Barry Miller (wife: Bev) of rural Frankfort; two stepbrothers, Richard Ryan (wife: Judy) and Bruce Ryan (wife: Marcia) both of rural Frankfort; one stepsister, Tina Haynes (husband: John) of Buffalo, Ind.; and two half-sisters, Lori Miller of Mishawaka and Melissa Miller of Indianapolis. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Dustin, Montana, Drew, Emily, Damian, Jadeyn and TJ.
Services 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville, Pastor Gretchen Schneider officiating. Calling 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Geetingsville Cemetery, with military burial rites. Memorials to the American Heart Assoc.
