Carl A. Bushman, 79, passed away Dec. 29, 2011, at 8:55 a.m. in his home, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness of Parkinsonâs and Dementia.
Carl was born September 8, 1932 in Frankfort, Indiana. He was the son of the late Willie Bushman and Viola (Tedrick) Bushman. He married Helon C. Gerald on Feb. 22, 1957. She survives.
He attended Frankfort High School. He was an employee of Exide Battery Corp. for over 25 years. He was a member of the Memorial Parkway Church of Christ in Frankfort for more than 50 years. Carl very much enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting, with his son and friends. He also enjoyed camping and fishing with his family.
In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by three children: Vicki R. (Edward) Wolfe, Jeffrey A. (Denise) Bushman and Melissa A. (Carl) Morrison; nine grandchildren: Candi J. (Scott) Booth, Justin R. Byars, Jarred A. (Cassie) Bushman, Jacob W. Fish, Kammi E. Cast, Derrek C. Bushman, Jessi M. (Derek) Dunk, Anthony W. Cast and Heather M. (Justin) Sheets; one great-grandchild: Ella Grace Bushman; and three step-great-grandchildren: Ally, Carly, and Matthew Booth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2 at Genda Funeral Home, with Bradley Kriel officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday before the funeral. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.
