Carl A. Smith, 84, Kingman, died at 1:45 a.m. June 4, 2011 at Wesley Manor.
Mr. Smith was born Aug. 22, 1926 in Clinton County to the late Jacob A.
and Zora (Weaver) Smith. He married Judy Reppert on April 1, 1977 and she
survives.
He retired in 1993 from Scheid Olds-Cadillac where he worked as a service
manager and car salesman. He lived in Frankfort all of his life, leaving
in 2000 to live on a lake near Kingman. The last 10 months of his life was
spent in Wesley Manor.
He belonged to the First Christian Church, American Legion and a former member of the
Moose Lodge. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman
1st Class. Carl loved to fish, woodworking and, of course, cars.
Surviving with his wife of Kingman are two sons, Mark C. (wife Charlene)
Smith of Clearwater, Fla., and Dean A. (wife Vicki) Smith of Frankfort;
one daughter, Cheri Smith Kaylor of Frankfort; two step-sons, R. Brent
(wife Joyce) Stingley of Indianapolis and Rick A. (wife Anna) Stingley of
Noblesville; one brother, Donald (wife Elsie) Smith; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Genda
Funeral Home. Calling will occur from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011
at the funeral home. Burial will occur at Green Lawn Cemetery with
military burial rites.
