Carol A. Whitaker, 74, of Frankfort, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017, at home.
She was born May 23, 1942, in Shelbyville, IL, to Robert and Wyntress Hoyer Cameron. She was formerly married to Thomas Whitaker.
Carol attended Frankfort Senior High School. She retired from Smurfit Container before moving to Florida in 1986. While in Florida, she worked as a bookkeeper for Paradise Pools in Melbourne for five years. In 2002, she returned to Frankfort to be with her family. Carol was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose where she served as past senior regent, and Rainbow Girls of the Frankfort Masonic Lodge. Carol lived the philosophy that âLove of a family is lifeâs greatest blessing.â
Surviving Carol are her children, Dan (Viola) Whitaker, of Chantilly, VA, Lori (Bill) Albaugh, of Michigantown, and Chalise Whitaker Klecz, of Frankfort; 11 grandchildren, Alicia (Justin) Collins, Bonnie (Allen) Arias, Ben Albaugh, Jared (Stefanie) Whitaker, Alaina Whitaker, Jessica Crick Garcia (Joe Garcia), Kyle Gagne, Kasey Klecz, Kolby Klecz, Ashley Carlson, and Cameron Carlson; nine great-grandchildren, Hailie, Sophia, and Christian Arias, Kelsey and Blake Collins, Tom Albaugh, Jayden McBee, Adelyn Carlson, and Jeremiah Garcia; and brother-in-law, Paul (Cheryl) Whitaker, of Frankfort.
She is preceded in death by her parents, former husband, son, Joe Whitaker; daughter, Debbie Whitaker Crick; granddaughter, Becky Albaugh; and mother-in-law, Helen Whitaker.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Whitaker officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorials in Carolâs name may be made to St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
