Carol Draper

Carol J. Draper, 86, of Flora, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.  She was born May 29, 1931 in Camden to Charles and Mary (Stewart) Bryan.

Carol graduated from Camden High School and was retired from Smith Construction where she worked as the bookkeeper.  She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and the American Legion Womens Auxiliary in Camden.  Carol was a very caring person, always thinking of others before herself.  She loved spending time with her family and especially attending her great-grandchildren's sporting events.  She also enjoyed her time with friends and spending the winter months in Florida.

On January 6, 1952, Carol married Joe I. Draper and together they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary before he preceded her in death on April 4, 2014.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

Surviving family includes her children, Gary (Nancy) Draper of Port Charlotte, FL, Kyra (Gary) McCormick of Jeffersonville, and Beth (Curt) Hufty of Flora; grandchildren, Jonathan (Sandi) Draper, Danielle (Gail) Loosbrock, Kensi (Robert) Bishop, Kaleb (Nic) Loosbrock, Kelly (Jason) Payne, Ashley McCormick, Chris (Kiley) McCormick, Amy (Jeremy) Duff, Breann (Dave) Falkenberg, and Dustin (Nicole) Hufty; 17 great grandchildren and one sister, Wilma Jean Edwards of Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Genda Funeral Home – Reinke Chapel in Flora.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Marissa Harrison and Pastor Dave Falkenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora.  Donations in memory of Carol may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church (232 W.
