Carolyn Ann Sharp, 71, of Flora, has joined Our Savior, the Communion of Saints and her Mother in heaven, on Sunday, January 4, 2015.
She was born April 28, 1943, in Anderson, the daughter of Robert and Evelyn Belmore Schier. Carolyn and her husband, Mark, shared 49 years of marriage; he survives.
Carolyn was a hairdresser throughout her life. She was also a clerk at Dairy Land. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi, and had attended Saint Ambrose Catholic Church in Anderson. Carolyn enjoyed the arts and her dog, Buddy. She will be remembered as a loving, kind, caring and generous person who made everyone feel welcome. Inquisitive and resourceful, she always provided for those she loved.
In addition to her husband, Carolyn is survived by two children, Julie Ann Sharp and Corey (Beth) Sharp; one brother, Robert âJoeâ Schier; one grandson, Kyle (Elizabeth) DeWees; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many special friends.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, James âEddieâ Wood, grandson, Nathan Sharp; and dogs, Miles and Gizmo.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the remembrance service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial mass will begin at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi with Fr. Robert Williams officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Anderson, on April 25, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. to the start of the memorial mass at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at Anderson Memorial Park at a later date.
