Carolyn J. Bolinger, 88, of Rossville, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born March 28, 1926, in Lafayette, to John S. and Bernardine M. Punghorst Davis. On May 6, 1978, she married Warren E. Bolinger; he preceded her in death October 24, 2000.
Carolyn graduated Jefferson High School in 1944 and attended Lafayette Business College. She worked for Indiana Gas Company for 32 years before retiring. Warren and Carolyn enjoyed wintering in Ft. Myers for many years. She was a life member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, perpetual member of St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary where she served as financial secretary for several years, and member of the Cathedral of St. Mary in Lafayette.
Surviving Carolyn are her step children, Ron (Joyce) Bolinger of Lafayette, Joyce (Larry) Patrick of Pyrmont, and Mary (Bruce) Korman of Jonesborough, TN; 12 step grandchildren, and 18 step great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, and step son, Jerry Bolinger.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 2:00 â 5:00 p.m. with rosary service beginning at 1:45 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Lafayette, on Monday, December 22, 2014, with Fr. Jeff Martin presiding. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette. Memorial in Carolynâs name may be made to the Cathedral of St. Mary.
