Carolyn Sue Zook

Carolyn Sue Zook, 83, of Zionsville, formerly of Flora and Bringhurst, passed away, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Zionsville Meadows.  She was born June 29, 1935 in Carroll County to George and Lena (Martin) Darling. She worked for 20 years at Essex Wire and for a short time at Flora IGA in the Deli Department. Carolyn was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and held the office of Secretary various times.  She was a member of Bringhurst United Methodist Church.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, doing crossword puzzles, and playing Euchre at the local senior center in Lebanon.  She loved cats, and collected cat knick-knacks and snow globes.  But her true passion was spending time with her family and being the biggest fan of her children and grandchildren in their sporting endeavors.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Cindy (Gene) Wethington of Lebanon, Chris (Cathy) Zook of Flora and Julie (Brad) Perkins of Morganton, NC; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; a brother and a son, Randall “Randy” Zook. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 12pm until the time of the service at 2pm at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel.  Pastor Richard Burdett will officiate.  Burial will follow are Maple Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
