Charlene Kessler, 87, of rural Rossville, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at her home with family present.
She was born May 17, 1930, in Modesto, CA, to Ilden and Vivian (Marconett) Gish. On July 16, 1949, she married Carroll J. Kessler, in Modesto; he preceded her in death on May 10, 2001.
Charlene attended Modesto High School. She was a homemaker, member of Cutler Ridge Old German Baptist Brethren New Conference, and enjoyed singing and flower gardening.
Surviving Charlene are her sons, Roland (Sharol) Kessler and Jeff (Karla) Kessler, both of Rossville; grandchildren, Darren Kessler, Jordan (Michelle) Kessler, Heather Kessler, and Joshua Kessler; great-grandson, Jaxson Kessler; brother, Harold (Mae) Gish; brother-in-law, Roger Haney, and two sisters-in-law, Faye Kessler and Marilyn (Raymond) Gascho.
In addition to her husband, Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Stephen, Gary, and Terry; sister, Marleta Haney; infant brother, Curtis Leroy Gish; and brother-in-law, Calvin Kessler.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Cutler Ridge Old German Baptist Brethren New Conference from 2:00 â 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017, at the church with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in North Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Charleneâs name may be made to the Cutler Ridge Benevolent Fund.
