Charles Arthur âScrappyâ Norris, 88, of Goodyear, AZ, passed away May 23, 2015, at Genesis Healthcare Estrella Center in Avondale, AZ.
Scrappy was born December 4, 1926, in Hillisburg, to Alva R. and Pearl Edna Woods Norris. On September 26, 1946, he married Beverly M. Brown; she passed away April 9, 1999.
He was a graduate of Scircleville High School. Scrappy served in the United States Navy during World War II. In 1982, he retired from Indiana Brass after over 30 years as a shipping foreman and also worked for 20 years for the Frankfort Police Department as a meter monitor and also part-time at Ag Max. Scrappy was a past member of the Moose Lodge; he loved sports and was an avid Cubs and Hot Dog fan.
Surviving are one daughter, Marsha (Steve) Tufano of Goodyear, AZ; six grandchildren, Shawn, Eric, Ryan, Dustin, Lisa, and Kimm; and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and three brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Whiteman Cemetery in Michigantown. A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, at TPA Park Shelter House #2. The family asks those attending to help celebrate by wearing Frankfort Hot Dogs or Chicago Cubs apparel.
