Charles Basil Slaven, 84, of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 13, 1929, in Frankfort, the son of Arthur and Alma Hughes Slaven. Charles married the former Christina Maria Montalvo; she survives.
Charles attended Frankfort Schools. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Charles worked for Robins Homes and Draper Construction for many years. He worked at Gem City Cigar Store. Charles was a member of Woodside Christian Church, American Legion, and Eagles as a Golden Eagle.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by two sons, Tim (Cindy) Slaven and Arthur Slaven, both of Frankfort; one daughter, Judy (Kurt) Milnes of Bloomfield; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Tom and John.
Memorial visitation for Charles will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013, from 4-6 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. A private family service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Plainview Cemetery in Colfax. On-line condolences may be directed to gendafuneralhome.com.
