Charles Earl âButchâ Birden Jr., 71, of Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at his home.
He was born September 20, 1945, in Frankfort, to Charles E. and Vinabell Timmons Birden Sr. On June 9, 1972, Butch married Mary Kathern Haynes in Frankfort; she survives.
In 1963, Butch graduated from Frankfort High School and then served in the 78th Artillery of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Before retiring in 1996, he worked at Chrysler, and later worked at Crews Roofing. Butch was a member of Faith Family Church. Passing on his love of fishing to his children and grandchildren, Butch enjoyed fishing and camping especially at Knob Lake and Rockville.
In addition to his wife, Butch is survived by his children, Charles E. Birden III, of Frankfort, Telena Birden, of Lafayette, Tabitha (Brady) Posey, of Frankfort, and James Edward âEddieâ Birden, of North Carolina; brother, Dave (Marcia) Birden, of Rochester; sister, Josie Duckworth, of Frankfort; nine grandchildren, Tabitha, Chaz, Ethan, Chad, Brevon, Austin, Tasha, Raeann, and Ashley; six special grandchildren, Erica, Matthew, Morgan, Cassie, Cara, and Cami; and seven great-grandchildren.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kay Gidner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Cliff Howell will officiate.
