Charles Glenn âButchâ Denny, 71, of Bringhurst, left this earth to meet his Lord and Savior early on Thursday morning, June 9, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette.
Butch was born on February 16, 1945 to Glenn and Betty (Hughes) Denny in Winamac, IN. He attended Logansport Schools until 11th grade and later earned his GED. On May 30, 1965, he married the love of his life, Christine Wagoner of Bringhurst at the Wheatland Avenue Methodist Church in Logansport. They recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.
Over the years, Butch worked at Smith Construction Co. in Bringhurst, Rockwell Standard Manufacturing Company in Flora and Delphi and West Lafayette High Schools. He most recently worked part-time at Delphi First Assembly of God Church.
Butch was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He dearly loved his family. He enjoyed mowing the yard, gardening, reading his Bible, doing various maintenance work, attending his grandchildrenâs sporting events and spending as much time as possible with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Christine; two sons, Greg (Susan) Denny of Flora and Rob (Staci) Denny of Bringhurst; five grandsons, Kyle Denny of Lafayette, Austin, Payton, Braden and Jaden Denny of Bringhurst; one granddaughter, Kayla Denny of Bringhurst; one brother, Jerry (Chris) Denny of the Logansport area; two sisters, Sharon (Robin) Camp and Susie (Mike) Stratton, all of Logansport; one sister-in-law, Brenda Thompson (Allen Hughes) of Bringhurst; and several nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Ralph and Lora Hughes of Logansport and Simon and Ruby Denny of the Logansport area; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dale and Robert Wagoner of Bringhurst; and a brother-in-law, Steven Wagoner of Bringhurst.
Visitation for Butch will be on Monday afternoon, Monday, June 13, 2016 from 3:00 pm until time of the funeral service at 7:00 pm at The First Assembly of God Church in Delphi. Pastor Brent Oliver will officiate. Burial will be private. Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home or memorial contributions can be made in Butchâs name to The First Assembly of God Church in Delphi or The Flora Senior Center.
