Charles E. Sellers, 80, of Frankfort, died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at his residence. Born Oct. 27, 1931, he was the son of Chalmer and Edith Cash Sellers. He attended Frankfort schools.
On Aug. 13, 1955, he married Wilma L. Ferguson, and she survives.
Mr. Sellers previously worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad where he set ties and drove spikes for 13 years. He retired from Haynes International in Kokomo as a machine operator. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a former member of the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking, and loved spending time with his family. He was a Colts fan but an avid Cubs fan.
Surviving with his wife of Frankfort are 3 daughters, Debbie Gunyon (husband: Rick), Vicki Bailey and Brenda Bell (husband: Marshall), all of Frankfort; 1 sister, Patricia Shirar of Lafayette; 6 grandchildren, Bradley Gunyon, Cory Worzala, Chad Lanum, Dustin Howe, Jocelyn Oppelt and Trista Bailey; and 9 great-grandchildren, Emma, Maya, Charlie, Samantha, Lola, Annabelle, Rylie, Colton and Kellen. Preceded in death by 3 sisters, Melva Shaw, Margarite Monday and Betty Donoghue; and 3 brothers, James, Bill and Paul Sellers.
Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Genda Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Pastor Chuck Williams officiating. Burial in Bunnell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to First Baptist Church.
