Charles H. Finfrock, 84, of Frankfort, passed away at 12:16 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.
He was born October 27, 1929, in Dayton, the son of Harvey H. and Mabel Stingle Finfrock. Charles was formerly married to Evelyn Crister. On December 21, 1987, he married Ruth Estes; she preceded him in death on December 14, 2013.
Charles graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1947. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Charles worked with the Carpenters Local 215 and was self employed. He was a member of the Carpenterâs Local 215 and the Masonic Lodge #492.
Charles is survived by two sons, Charles (Beverly) Finfrock and Rex Finfrock, both of Frankfort; three daughters, Evelyn (Bill) Tarkington of Pine Village, Nancy (Kenneth) Culp of Kentucky, and Janet (Mickey) Whitlock of Lafayette; three step-children, Kenneth (Sue) Estes, David Estes, and Chris (Jerry) Lesley, all of Frankfort; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Charles was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 10 a.m. until the time of the Masonic Service beginning at 12 p.m. Funeral services for Charles will follow with Pastor Richard Burdett officiating. Burial will follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in Lafayette with military honors. Memorials may be made in Charlesâ name to the Diabetes Association or Masonic Lodge #492.
