Charles J. âJimâ Brown Jr., 89, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.
He was born August 2, 1925, in Frankfort, to Charles M. and Violet B. Alexander Brown. On February 15, 1986, he married Joan King; she survives.
Jim attended Kirklin Schools. Throughout his life, Jim lived in Jamestown and later Frankfort. He served as a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy during World War II. Jim retired from Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, as a forklift operator. He was a member for over 66 continuous years of the Kirklin American Legion Post 310 where he was also past Commander, member of the V.F.W., over fifty years member of the Mason Lodge, and past member of U.A.W.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his son, Lee Brown of Carmel; daughter, Lisa Brown (Cheryl Bryant) of Brownsburg; half daughters, Pat Wethington of Greenfield, and Pamela Cook of Brownsburg; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, half daughter, Judy Farrell; and one brother, Tom R. Brown.
Visitation for Jim will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 â 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Pam Ditson-McCall officiating.
