Charles S. âSpeckâ Weida, 77, of Frankfort, died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at his home.
He was born Sept. 4, 1934 in Mulberry, to the late Charles R. and Mildred (Dixon) Weida. He married Mabel Hinton Nov. 28, 1954 and she survives.
Mr. Weida graduated from Mulberry High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a lifelong resident of Clinton County. He was retired from Peter Paul and had previously worked for Frankfort City Light and Power. He was a life member of the American Legion and member of the Eagles.
In addition to his wife, of Frankfort, he is survived by a son: Charles R. Weida III of Frankfort; a daughter: Cindy (Ora) Reeder of Frankfort;j two granddaughters: Jada (Chad) Ray and Becky (Justin) Brewer, both of Frankfort; two great-grandsons: Jackson Ray and Parker Ray; a brother: Fletcher Ray (Joan) Weida of Lafayette; and a sister; Janet Schwartz of Fort Wayne.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Harold Wayne and Lewis Dixon Weida; and a sister: Zona West.
Services will be 7 p.m. Friday, June 15 at Genda Funeral Home, with Pastor Chuck Williams officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kilmore Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association for the benefit of Indiana or Guardian Angel Hospice.
