Charles "Charley" Dunham

Charles “Charley” Dunham, 84, Flora, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Lafayette.  He was born June 22, 1939, in Frankfort, to Everett and Mary (Hamilton) Dunham.  He married Dorothy Edens on October 8, 1965.  She preceded him in death on September 30, 2013.

Charley was a 1959 graduate of Flora High School.  He then went on to serve in the United States Army.  He worked for the Delphi Community Schools for 23 years until his retirement in 1999.  He was a member of the Church of the Brethren and was president of the Carroll County Skating Club, which he helped form in 1976.  He was a track and field coach of the Carroll County Senior Olympics. Charly was a simple man that enjoyed people.  He loved talking with people and enjoyed singing karaoke, fishing and gardening.

Charley is survived by his son, David (Stacy) Dunham; grandchildren, Shayla and Colorado; two step-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott; and sister, Ina Ellen.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Reinke Chapel.  Pastor Ted Lucas will officiate.  Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
