Charlotte O. Bailey Stoops, 98, Frankfort, died 4 p.m. Sept. 3, 2011 at
Wesley Manor.
She was born Aug. 19, 1913 in Pulaski County, the daughter of the late
Ollie William and Grace Bell (Clouser) Bailey.
She married Bernard K. Stoops July 5, 1936 and he preceded her in death Feb. 15, 1997.
She graduated from Little Jefferson High School in 1932. Charlotte worked
for Frozen Novelties and National Seal and was also a homemaker. Charlotte
and her husband Bernard were instrumental in the start up of Wesley Manor.
She was also a member of St Matthewâs United Methodist Church, Ruth Circle
and McClure Sunday School Class, Order of Eastern Star, Al-Anon, past
president PTA at Lincoln School and a member of Home Ec Club.
She is survived by children: Phil and Millie Stoops of Frankfort, Jim and
Helen Stoops of Cutler, Bill and Pat Stoops of Chillocothe, IL; and Deloris
Stoops (friend Marc) of Frankfort; sister: Berniece Leibenguth of
Ellington, Conn.; grandchildren: Karen Stoops Rutan (husband Kent), Cathee
Stoops Copper (husband Todd), Lori Stoops Roth (husband Mark), Teresa
Stoops Bradbury, Mark, Dan (wife Debra) and John (wife Stacie) Stoops;
seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 7 at St. Matthewâs United
Methodist Church, with Pastor Jake Fisher and Pastor Michael Lawson
officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 11
a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Matthewâs United Methodist Church.
