Chester L. Wagoner, 84, of Rossville, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013, at his home.
He was born April 16, 1929, in Clinton County, the son of Elmer and Lydia Yoder Wagoner. On June 12, 1949, he married the former Doris Joan Metzger; she survives.
In 1947, Chester graduated from Rossville High School. He was employed at DeHaai Industrial where he worked in sales and service for many years. After his retirement, he was a greeter at Samâs Club. Chester was a member of Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
In addition to his wife, Chester is survived by two sons, John A. (Mabel) Wagoner of Waynesboro, PA, and Jim A. (Mildred) Wagoner of Greencastle, PA; two daughters, Jolene Wagoner of Rossville, and Juanita (Steve) Kuns of Flora; one sister-in-law, Betty (Delphus) Eichman of Kansas; one brother-in-law, David (Gladys) Metzger Jr. of CA; 16 grandchildren, and 56 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Oyler; one brother, Russell Wagoner; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Rossville from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Rossville with Home Brethren officiating.
