Christopher John ""Chris"" Mummert
Christopher John âChrisâ Mummert, 17, of Cutler, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born August 15, 1995, in Lafayette, the son of John Timothy and Betty Jean Keller Mummert; his father preceded him in death.
Chris was a member of Boy Scouts #144 of the Sagamore Council; he enjoyed camping, canoeing, building, hunting, fishing, playing video games, and collecting Hot Wheels. He loved animals and kids.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Donna Jean Bailey; one niece, Chelsey Kay Bailey; one nephew, Joseph John Bailey Jr.; maternal grandparents, Frank and Helen Keller; paternal grandmother, Mary Phyllis Mummert; aunts and uncles, Tom (Pat) Mummert, Jeff (Cindy) Mummert, Joretta (Tom) Fuller, Joyce (Jeff) Anderson, and Jerry (companion Gary) Clark, George (Julie) Keller, Mike (Gloria Jean) Keller, Rose (Donny) Keefer, and Della (Kyle) Lloyd; and several cousins.
In addition to his father, Chris is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Oliver Mummert; and aunt, Rosalee Keller.
Visitation for Chris will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Carroll High School in Flora from 3:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the school with Tyler Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Ball Hill Cemetery. Memorials in Chrisâ name may be made to Boy Scouts #144. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora.
