Curtis E. Abston

Curtis E. Abston, 62, of Lafayette, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014, at his home.

He was born December 17, 1951, in Frankfort, the son of Jack Curtis Abston and Frances Chester Abston Surber; his mother survives.  Curtis was formerly married to Sherry Neal, Marsha Holt, and Brenda Denham.

Curtis graduated from Frankfort Community High School in 1970.  He worked for Exide and later SIA.  Curtis enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, playing cards, watching golf, playing video games, and watching football especially the Indianapolis Colts.

Surviving Curtis are his children, Jessica (Patrick) Easterday of Rossville, Jennifer Abston, Samantha Abston (fiancé, Corey Hamm), and Matt Abston, all of Lafayette, and Nick Abston of Frankfort; one brother, Jack (Jedonna) Abston of Frankfort; and nine grandchildren, Adam, Evan, Neal, Caleb, Ethan, Aidan, Devin, Breanna, and Wyatt.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014, the funeral home with Pastor Tom Lundford officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.  Memorials in Curtis’ name may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
