Daisy L Cheek

Daisy L. Cheek, 84, of Hillisburg, died on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Frankfort.

She was born July 7, 1928, in Lee County, VA, the daughter of Milton and Laura Long Martin.

On December 29, 1942, she married Charlie Cheek; he preceded her in death January 10, 1981.

Daisy was a homemaker; she loved spending time in the yard, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Surviving Daisy are her children, Sue Davis of Frankfort, Joyce (Gerald) Russell of Frankfort, Shirley (Daryl) Dean of Whitestown, Wanda (Steve) Maher of Charlotte, NC, and Norma (Wendell) Zetterberg of Hillisburg, and Tim (Jodie) Cheek of Lebanon; brother, Lester Martin of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, son, Charlie Cheek, Jr.; grandson, Troy Miller; brother, Robert Martin, Lonnie Martin, and Jesse Martin; and one sister, Katherine Martin.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012, from 4-8 pm at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Funeral service for Daisy will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Bogue officiating.  Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery in Scircleville.
